Welcome to Protis Reviews. My name is Alan, and for an hour each week I will be showcasing the hottest releases from local artists in the Brisbane music scene, as well as those from interstate and overseas. I have been writing reviews of studio releases, be they singles or EPs, since June of 2024. I started reviewing live performances in September of 2024, and have been enjoying these immensely! My aim for this show is to see how it works in a radio format.
This week on "Protis Reviews" showcases artists and bands who have performed as part of the "West End Girls" series of gigs. They are held once every season, so effectively four times a year. The Bearded Lady in West End used to host these gigs, but since that venue's closure they now take place at The Junk Bar in New Farm.
