Marina Posa

Marina Poša is a Brisbane-based mezzo-soprano, composer and interdisciplinary artist whose work moves between classical voice, experimental music, electronic sound and multimedia performance. 

Having studied and performed in Australia and Europe, Marina has increasingly shifted from interpreting music to creating her own original works. Drawing on her Croatian heritage, personal histories and the expressive possibilities of the human voice, she explores themes of identity, memory, womanhood and transformation. 

Currently completing a Master of Philosophy at the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University, Marina's practice-based research, I am Maria!, investigates the transformation of the classically trained singer into a self-authored creative artist. 

Marina’s recent music embraces vocal experimentation, electronic soundscapes, spoken word and unconventional approaches to composition. Unrestricted by genre, Marina continues to explore new sonic possibilities, creating music that is personal, exploratory and unapologetically her own.
